As a neighbor to these communities, Widgetdyne contributes to the local economy, as well as providing donations to local schools, volunteer fire departments, and police departments. Citizens from many of these communities often visit our campus, where we conduct a number of programs, including:

• Machining and metalworking classes
• Mathematics and Chemistry tutoring at the high-school level
• Culinary classes
• Wine-tasting excursions
• Wednesday-Night Bingo
• Big Brother / Big Sister programs
• Charity and Relief Drives

We are proud sponsors of Amia High School’s football team (the Amia Bulldogs) and their Girls Varsity Basketball Team, (the Panthers).

On Thursday and Saturday nights, first and third week of the month, we operate a courtesy shuttle between Miranda, Honeydew, Petrolia, and Amia, for members of these communities who wish to visit our Hawkwind Sports Bar or Rooftop Terrace Restaurant. On these nights, the facility is open to all (17 and over), with ample security provided by our staff. Patrons are welcome to enjoy the dancing and food / beverage specials, without the need to operate a motor vehicle. The shuttle operates from 8PM until 2:30AM.

Nearby Amia, founded in 1918, features a quaint, historic feel, many specialty and antique shops, several restaurants, and a world-class golf course. A new mall facility is being constructed just south of town.
The Widgetdyne campus is located on the Pacific Shore, within Beaver Creek Forest, just north of Shelter Cove, California. Although we are beyond the corporate limits of any of the neighboring communities, we are within 15 miles’ distance of several local municipialities, including Amia, Miranda, Petrolia, Honeydew, Briceland, and Weott, and approximately 45 miles from Eureka.
